GCSE Results 2026
Published by Concord College on Thursday 20th of August 2026
Concord College’s GCSE students are celebrating their exam results today, and once again students from all around the world achieved amazing outcomes. Twenty students from the year group achieved nine or in some cases even more grade 9s. Across the whole year group, 47% of all grades were 9. Two students achieved 11 grade 9s and four more gained 10.
Amongst the College’s local day students, almost half achieved 9 or more grades 7-9, the equivalent of 9 A’s.
Concord’s Principal, Dr Michael Truss commented “Our students have worked incredibly hard to achieve these wonderful results. Many of them are taking their GCSEs in their second language (English) and to be able to achieve at this level is remarkable. GCSEs present a unique situation for all students, and they work at their best across a large number of subjects to achieve in so many areas at once. We are very proud of all of them, especially for the wonderful community they create. Whether they live here in Shropshire or come from across the globe, they have worked together to support each other and built some wonderful friendships that will, I am sure, continue into Sixth Form and beyond.”
Head of Lower School, Ms Susan Correll added: “We are so proud of our GCSE students today who have proven that there is no substitute for hard work and endeavour. They have achieved outstanding GCSE results and worked cohesively as a wonderful group of students from around the world. Their resilience under pressure has been admirable, and I have no doubt that they will all go on to great things in the next stage of their educational journey.”
