School Opens New Nursery in Harpenden

Aldwickbury School, an award-winning independent school for children aged 3-13 in Harpenden, has officially opened its new Aldwickbury Nursery.
The Aldwickbury Nursery was formally opened on Friday 4th September by Victoria Collins, MP for Harpenden and Berkhamsted. More than 60 guests attended the launch event to celebrate the occasion and explore the school's newest learning environment. Families were invited to tour the purpose-built Nursery, meet Aldwickbury's Early Years specialists and enjoy a range of activities, followed by afternoon tea.
The opening comes at an exciting time for Aldwickbury School as it continues its successful transition to co-education. The launch of the Nursery enables boys and girls to begin their Aldwickbury journey from the age of three, with the school set to become fully co-educational by 2031.
Aldwickbury's reputation for excellence continues to grow. The school was named the UK's ‘Independent Boys' School of the Year’ in 2024 and, less than a year after its move to co-education, has been commended in the ‘Independent Prep School of the Year’ category for 2026 with finalists being announced later this month.
The new Nursery offers children a nurturing and stimulating environment designed to foster confidence, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. As part of their curriculum, Nursery pupils benefit from the school's outstanding facilities, including a swimming pool, state-of-the-art Sports Hall, dedicated STEM Hub and 20 acres of beautiful grounds.
The Nursery features two purpose-built classrooms within a dedicated Early Years setting, thoughtfully designed to support young children's learning, exploration and wellbeing through play-based and specialist-led experiences.
