GCSE Results 2026

We are delighted to celebrate an excellent set of GCSE results, reflecting the hard work and ambition of our pupils over the past two years.
This year, 126 pupils achieved an impressive set of grades across a broad range of subjects. Overall, 18% of all grades were awarded at Grade 9, 38% at Grades 9-8, and 60% at Grades 9-7. Among the many individual successes, ten pupils achieved a clean sweep of Grade 8s and 9s, while one pupil secured the exceptional distinction of achieving straight Grade 9s across all subjects.
There were particularly strong performances across a number of subjects. Modern Foreign Languages (French, German and Spanish) excelled, with more than half of all grades awarded at Grades 9-8, while Latin achieved an outstanding 70% of grades at this level. In Philosophy, Religion and Ethics, 41% of grades were awarded at Grade 9 and an impressive 79% at Grades 9-8. English Language saw 73% of pupils achieve Grades 9-7, while History delivered exceptional results with more than a quarter of all grades awarded at Grade 9 and almost half at Grades 9-8.
Beyond their grades, this year group embraced every aspect of school life, contributing fully to the co-curricular programme, service opportunities, sport, music, drama and leadership activities alongside their academic studies. These results reflect not only their academic ability, but also their character, commitment and willingness to make the most of every opportunity available to them at Dauntsey's.
John Davies, Head Master, commented:
What has impressed me most about this year group is not simply their academic success, but their diligence and enthusiasm over the past two years - they are fully deserving of their celebrations today. These excellent GCSE results are a testament not only to the effort and determination of our pupils, but also to the bespoke and focused support provided by their teachers and families every step of the way.
The strength of these results across such a broad spectrum of subjects provides an excellent foundation as they begin the next stage of their educational journey in the Sixth Form. We are excited to see what they will achieve over the next two years and look forward to supporting them as they continue to develop their talents, pursue their ambitions and make the most of the broad academic and co-curricular opportunities that Sixth Form life has to offer.
