Queen Anne’s Recognised as Microsoft Showcase School for Eighth Consecutive Year

Queen Anne’s School, Caversham has been recognised as a Microsoft Showcase School for the eighth consecutive year, placing it among a select group of schools recognised for their approach to digital education. 

Microsoft recognised 900 Showcase Schools worldwide for 2026 - 27. In the UK, around 90 schools achieved the status, including approximately 23 independent schools. 

Showcase Schools are required to demonstrate the impact of their digital strategy across areas including leadership, staff development, inclusion, future-ready skills and teaching and learning. 

Queen Anne’s digital journey began in 2015, as departments gradually incorporated the technology into their teaching by using Microsoft OneNote. By 2019, some subjects were being taught entirely digitally. These foundations meant that when schools closed during Covid, Queen Anne’s was able to move quickly to online learning while maintaining an almost normal timetable. 

Today, every student learns within a one-to-one digital environment, supporting collaboration, personalised learning, assessment and feedback. 

Antoine Rogeon, Assistant Head, Digital Learning and Head of Modern Foreign Languages, said: Our focus has always been on how technology can improve learning and prepare our students for the future. Eight consecutive years as a Microsoft Showcase School reflects how deeply digital learning has become embedded across Queen Anne’s. That was particularly clear during Covid. We were able to move online very quickly because our students and staff were already confident with the technology and ways of working.

The programme is now part of Microsoft Elevate for Educators, with a growing focus on responsible AI and AI literacy. Queen Anne’s is building on its digital foundations to help students understand and use emerging technologies confidently, critically and safely.
