Word From The Head

From Kevin Carson, Headmaster
We have proudly educated girls since 1788. Our history is long and distinguished, but our focus is firmly on the future, and we never stop questioning what skills and attributes young women need to thrive in the 21st century. This pursuit of innovation and excellence, combined with a relentless commitment to educating the whole person, is what defines an RMS education today.
Life at RMS is designed for and around our students, and their capacity to learn, lead, express themselves and build deep relationships with their friends never fails to impress us. Our academic vision is ambitious and innovative, and we are wholly committed to the pursuit of excellence. Through our broad and exciting co-curricular programme, we provide ample opportunity for girls to explore their passions and find their niche. Most importantly of all, we provide exceptional, pupil-centric pastoral care. RMS is a genuinely kind school; one that understands life isn’t always easy.
So who is an RMS girl? The girls who thrive here are enthusiastic and get stuck in. They are active learners who readily hone their talents and they are resilient and warm-hearted; characterised by integrity rather than entitlement. It would be unfair to expect all of this from the off, but with the support of our experienced, dedicated and kind staff, they will become young women that we are all proud of.
It is a great honour to be Headteacher of this wonderful school, and I warmly invite you to come and experience the Royal Masonic School for Girls for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.
