Word From The Head

The Barfield School ethos and values are all around you from the moment you arrive. Upon entering the school you will find a unique family feel, where the children’s happiness and wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do.

Situated in 12 glorious acres of Surrey woodland in Farnham, Barfield is wonderfully placed to provide your children with enriching experiences daily, both inside and outside the classroom. The care and attention provided by our staff creates a welcoming and inclusive environment within which each and every child can reach their true potential.

It is rare that a school feels equally confident in its academic standards and pastoral care; for the children at Barfield this is a reality. Small class sizes provide the perfect platform for each child to flourish and individuality is not only valued but encouraged. We guide the children as they progress through the early years of their education, supporting them to identify their passions and celebrating with them as they reach their goals.

We take great pride in the fact that our oldest children move on to a wide variety of Senior Schools each year, reinforcing the diverse culture that we embrace here at Barfield. As a school we carefully prepare the children for their transition and love that they leave us not only with the skills and knowledge to succeed, but also a lifetime of happy memories.

If you have not yet had the opportunity to visit Barfield, please do come and see first hand what we do here and how we do it. We think you will love it!

School Reviews

ISI Inspection, June 2023

In June 2023 the Independent Schools Inspectorate report rated the School as “Excellent” in all eight inspection areas. “Excellent” is the highest rating awarded and is equivalent to Ofsted’s “Outstanding”. This was a fantastic achievement for the school and is a testament to the hard work of staff...

I could not be happier with Barfield Nursery. It is a fantastic, rewarding and energetic learning environment and Woody has thrived.

Uplifting and Enlightening.

Dr and Mrs Hua

Both of our children began their academic journey at Barfield and I could not have wished them a better start. All the staff were very nurturing and highly professional. Barfield has a unique atmosphere making it particularly wonderful for the youngest pupils.

From the moment we stepped foot into Barfield, we knew it was a special place. The teachers' passion and commitment mixed with the warm and caring environment is a recipe for very happy, productive children. The teaching is both nurturing and academically rich. Our boys can't wait to get to school...
