    Word From The Head

    Mrs Jaggard

I am delighted to welcome you to Spring Grove School – a school that offers an excellent all-round education and a fantastic start in life for children aged 2 to 11 years. We are a happy, family Prep school where children have the space and opportunity to grow with confidence, and to find their own ‘spark’. Our school is small enough for us to know every child individually, and for us to encourage each and every pupil in our care to develop a love of learning that will be lasting. I was particularly pleased that after our most recent ISI inspection in 2023, we were awarded a double ‘excellent’ – for the quality of the pupils’ academic and other achievements, and for the quality of the pupils’ personal development – the highest grades achievable for both outcomes.

Spring Grove is located in Wye, between Ashford and Canterbury, in a beautiful 14-acre rural setting which I think we can justifiably describe as one of the most beautiful playgrounds in Kent. As a completely independent prep school we are proud to prepare our children for a range of secondary education when they leave us at 11 , including grammar and senior independent schools. Typically more than half of our leavers go on to grammar school, while many others win scholarships to independent schools both local and further afield

06-03-2026 - Reception class 'Stay and Play'

On Friday 6th March we are holding a ‘Stay and Play’ morning (9am to 10am) in our Reception classroom and garden for children currently aged 3 or 4 who are due to start school in Reception in September 2026 – and their parents. You are very welcome whether you are interested in your child joining Spring Grove School for Reception 2026, or whether your child is already registered for a place in our Reception class.

This is an opportunity for you and your child to meet our Reception staff and explore the delights of our large Reception classroom and garden.

      14-03-2026 - Open Morning

Our Open Mornings are great opportunities to visit Spring Grove at a weekend and experience the school in a relaxed, informal setting. Tours are led by our best ambassadors - our Prep 6 pupils - as well as by our teachers, and there is also time to meet with the Head and other members of staff, and with current parents. We ask our Open Morning visitors to register in advance so that we can book in timed tours between 9.30am and 11.30am, and ensure that every tour is tailored to your individual requirements.

      Good Schools Guide

A school for ‘have-a-go’, adventurous children who aren’t averse to muddy knees. The academics are skilfully woven into a joyful school day, producing bubbly, confident, able pupils with well-nurtured and strong roots.

Why have you chosen Spring Grove? "Because it is the best school in the area by far, not only in terms of supporting its students, but for academic excellence and preparing children well for secondary school and the wider world. We very much enjoyed the tour we attended in October 2024 and feel the...

My daughter has been at Teddies for just over a year and adores her days there. Her teachers are uniformly kind, caring, affectionate, and fun while also actively supporting her development with stimulating activities and plenty of time spent outdoors. I feel entirely content dropping her at...
