Spratton Hall and success in cross-country

What a great week for Spratton Hall and cross-country. Last Thursday our cross-country runners headed over to Swanbourne for the annual Swanbourne Chase. 12 schools competed with approximately 70 runners in each event. Our Junior girls team came 3rd, Junior and Senior boys both came 5th and our Senior girls came in a fabulous 1st, picking up the shield and individual medals. We then had 6 of our runners go to Ipswich on Saturday to run in the East Anglia Cross Country Championships for Northamptonshire County. They had qualified to run in this race in January from the Northamptonshire Cross-Country Championships. The girls in the U13 race came 1st, 3rd and 4th for their Northants team which is fantastic, whilst the remaining three runners all ran personal bests in the U13 boys' race and U15 girls' race. The standard of running at this event was extremely high and we are very proud to see six of our Spratton athletes running at this level.
We are now looking forward to all the House Cross-Country competitions, the National Prep Schools' Cross-Country Championships at Malvern College and Maidwell Chase.
