Mabel Jones Author Visits Malvern St James

Malvern St James’ Girls School hosted an Authors Aloud UK Event with Will Mabbitt, author of the Mabel Jones series on Tuesday 9 February. More than 260 Years 3 – 6 pupils from Malvern St James’ Girls School, Malvern Parish Primary, The Elms and Northleigh Primary were treated by Will to a feast of animated pirate storytelling and interactive swashbuckling fun and games. Will also shared his top tips on how pupils could create their own pirate characters and write their own adventure stories. The pupils were given the opportunity to buy a personally signed and dedicated copy of Will’s new book Mabel Jones and the Forbidden City, kindly arranged by Malvern Book Co-operative. Nia Grainger, Year 6 at Malvern St James Girls’ School added: “The thing that I like the most about seeing Will Mabbitt was when he read some of his book to us and when the drama was acted out about the purple bottom baboon. I also thought that he was funny and that he interacted with the audience well.”
