Zien Zhou, currently in Year 10 at Warwick School, has just returned from the 2017 World Para Athletics Grand Prix which was held in Nottwil, Switzerland during the half-term break. It is arguably one of the best meetings in the world for wheelchair athletes and, as a result, attracts athletes from all over the world. Zien said, “The races were so exciting and I raced with the World Record and European Record holders in the same heat”. Previous to these events Zien competed in Arbon, Switzerland where he renewed all of his PB’s in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m, coming third in the 1500m race. Last year Zien competed in the wheelchair category in the Mini London Marathon which is an international race lasting 3 miles and for people under 17. He won the under 14 boys’ wheelchair race and was presented with his trophy by HRH Prince Harry. As well as this, he was selected to compete in the ‘School Games’ for the Midlands in the 100 metres wheelchair race.
