Malvern St James Girls' School celebrated record-breaking GCSE examination results today, marking yet further outstanding academic and personal achievements for the girls this year.

The GCSE results show an exceptional 100% of girls achieving 5 or more subjects at A* to C grade, including Maths and English, with a remarkable 57% of the total grades achieved at A* or A. Eight students gained straight A and A*s in a combined total of 92 subjects, with Sarah Carrington, a weekly boarder from Warwickshire, achieving A* in all twelve of her subjects.

Local parent Ian Coventry from Great Malvern said: 'We are delighted with the results our daughter Francesca has achieved and recognise it as the culmination of all the hard work she's put in and the support and dedication of all the staff. MSJ has a fantastic reputation and provides a wonderful environment which encourages and empowers girls to try different things, developing the whole person and providing a genuine all-round education.'

Full Boarder Phoebe Ripley, from Cirencester said: 'I'm really proud of my results and a massive thank you goes to everyone. Being in an all-girls environment has really brought out the best in me and everyone is very supportive. I'm really looking forward to the next academic challenge of A levels here next year.'

Local parent Mrs Simmons from Malvern said: 'The School has high expectations and believes that every girl can succeed. I think this brings out the best in the girls as it develops their confidence and self-belief. I'm just so immensely proud of her!'

'All credit to the girls and their teachers who have given the School so much to celebrate' said Headmistress, Patricia Woodhouse. 'Following on from our outstanding A level results last week, this level of academic success is fitting testament to our positive and ambitious all-girl environment which sets consistently high expectations and standards. Our 'can-do' philosophy offers every girl the opportunity to achieve her personal best and we are extremely proud of our Year 11 girls today. We wish these young women ongoing success with their A-level studies here at MSJ, where their future is clearly very bright!'
