Film Premiere for Talented Bedford School Boy Composer

Published by Bedford School on Wednesday 17th of January 2018

Bedford School Sixth Former Oliver Graham has made his first step into the competitive world as a professional film composer and has gained his first credits for his score for the exciting new short film ’The Boy Who Had It All’.  It outlines the story of Duncan Edwards, a 'Busby Babe’ who played for Manchester United 175 times and became England's youngest ever player only surpassed by Michael Owen in the nineties. Despite his promising career - which saw him labelled as potentially one of the best in the world, Edwards was a victim of the tragic Munich air disaster.  Oliver commented, "The main segment of the film is the young Duncan playing in the old cobbled streets of Dudley and outlines how his love of football developed and the challenges he faced in his rise to stardom. The musical themes I have written are contrasting to reflect the changes of scene enhancing the nostalgia and sense of excitement but then also the emotional tragedy involved which his mother faced and how her grief endures." On Sunday 1st October 2017 Oliver attended the premiere of the film at Old Trafford where he mixed with the cast and his production team as well as press, some VIP guests and one of Duncan Edwards' former Manchester United teammates. "It was an amazing experience working closely with the director to develop musical themes for his well-crafted characters and the production process of putting it all together.  It was extremely exciting to go to Manchester for the premiere and seeing my music on the big screen in front of hundreds of VIP guests and meeting the fantastically talented actors and producers that I’ve been working with - I even signed some DVDs”
