Viva Valencia!
Published by Bedford School on Wednesday 28th of February 2018
Over the half term week, thirteen boys from Bedford School enjoyed a trip to the stunning city of Valencia, which lies on Spain’s south-eastern coast. The boys had Spanish lessons each morning, and then took part in a range of activities in the afternoons, staying with local families in the evenings to gain extra language practice and immerse themselves in Spanish culture. The boys are now experts on the local festival of ‘Las Fallas’ which takes place in March, a traditional and unique celebration involving fire held in commemoration of Saint Joseph, Patron Saint of Carpenters. They also enjoyed the Oceanographic Centre where they saw everything from jellyfish to a dolphin show. Another highlight was playing football on Valencia’s impressive beach.
