Over the past few days, our pupils have been busy writing their manifestos during their PSHE lessons for the school council elections.
As mentioned during our information evenings, pupils’ positions of leadership are taken very seriously at Senior School. This is such an important process that teaches so many different aspects. From building an argument and defending one’s own ideas to public speaking and the right to vote, these are essential skills that prepare our pupils for adult life.

The School Council representatives were announced in the Assembly this morning, and we officially have five of them! Congratulations to them and well done to all the pupils for participating in the process.
During the Assembly, Mr Henderson also introduced the Prefect and Head Boy/Head Girl elections. Although this is slightly different as pupils have to go through an application process, the importance of these is also crucial and helps pupils develop the same essential skills. It would be really helpful if you encourage your son/daughter to put their names forward and apply to one of the available positions.

Please note that next Friday, a book fair will be held in the Theatre for our pupils. They will be able to purchase age appropriate books of their choice. Thank you to the APA for organising this and supporting one of our main aims as a school: To encourage pupils to read for pleasure.

I wish you a lovely weekend.
