Candy Gourlay Visit

On Tuesday we were delighted to welcome author, Candy Gourlay who came to Kingham Hill to talk about her life as a writer.

Candy was born and raised in the Philippines and came to the UK after meeting her English husband during the People Power Revolution. Candy worked as a journalist but had always wanted to be a writer so, after she’d had her 3 children, she started writing stories. After 9 rejections and a competition win she was picked up by a publisher and became a writer!

Her books for older readers include Tall Story, Shine and Bone Talk and her latest book Wild Song was Bookseller Book of the Month last February.

Her visit is part of the Chipping Norton Literary Festival which starts Thursday 27th April and Kingham Hill is a Headline Sponsor for Children's Events.
