Success for Lucy Walton in National Championships

Lucy Walton, a Year 8 pupil at Malvern St James, last week finished 3rd at the National Under 13 Golf Championships held at Delamere Forest in Cheshire. Held over 3 days the event attracted the top 40 girl golfers from across the Country. The difficult weather conditions made tough going for all three rounds but Lucy held it together producing a fantastic final round of gross 74, only one over par, to finish 3rd overall. Lucy, a member of The Worcestershire Golf Club in Malvern, was delighted with her result saying 'I'm thrilled to finish 3rd in such a high class field and to make it even more special I reduced my handicap to 4.'
