Fantastic A Level results at Northwood College

Published on isbi School News dated Thursday 16th of August 2012

Northwood College has seen some of its best A Level results this year, with over 50% of the grades achieved being at A* or A grade, bucking the national trend that has seen a fall in the number of A grades awarded this year. This is a significant increase on last year and continues the outstanding record of achievement of girls at Northwood College.

Out of the 53 girls who took A Levels, three gained 4 A*/As and 13 gained 3 A*/As. Two girls have already secured their places at Oxford University, where they are both going to study Biological Sciences; Tove Hubbard achieved an amazing 4 A*s in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and English Literature, whilst Charlotte Pain achieved A*s in Biology and French, plus an A in Chemistry.

Jacqualyn Pain, Head Mistress said: 'I am delighted with this fantastic set of results and would like to congratulate the girls on their achievements which are a testament to their hard work and enthusiasm for learning. High grades have been achieved in a wide range of the most demanding academic subjects and many pupils have secured places at the UK's top universities and further afield'.
