Malvern St James Girls Celebrate Another Year of Excellent GCSE Results!

Malvern St James Girls� School once again celebrated excellent GCSE examination results today, marking yet further outstanding academic and personal achievements for the girls this year.

The GCSE results show an exceptional 58% of all Grades awarded were A*- A, with one student, Anna Ying, achieving A* in all twelve of her GCSE subjects and a further 5 students gaining straight A* and A Grades in ten subjects or more. The Maths department is celebrating record-breaking results, achieving 74% of all grades at A*- A; likewise the Physics department with 96% of grades at A*- B; whilst the Drama, Spanish and Food Technology departments gained a stunning 100% at A* - A.

Malvern based student Elizabeth Rees, who secured 5 A* and 5 A Grades, said, �I�m very proud of my results. It�s fantastic to do so well after all the hard work; to achieve an A in Maths is just amazing!� �Her mother, Mrs Helen Rees commented, �We are delighted with Elizabeth�s results. MSJ has been the making of her, giving her the confidence to realize her true ability. A massive thank you must go to everyone at the School�.

Rebecca Evans from Upper Welland achieved 7 A* and 3 A Grades. She said, �I am so excited! I wasn�t sure how well I�d done so it�s been a wonderful surprise.� Her mother added, �Rebecca has worked extremely hard for her GCSEs and it has really paid off � we are thrilled for her�.

�All credit to the girls and their teachers who have given their School so much to be proud of today� said Headmistress, Patricia Woodhouse. �Following on from our outstanding A Level results last week, this level of academic success is fitting testament to our vibrant, ambitious learning environment and a positive �can-do� culture which offers every girl the opportunity to achieve her personal best. We wish these young women ongoing success with their A Level studies here at MSJ, where their future is clearly very bright!�.
