John Boot was a herbalist in the 19th century, following his passing in 1860, his wife and children dedicated themselves to collecting herbs from all over England in his memory. > FACT 8: Nottingham born John Peake invented the traffic light! After reading about road accidents, Peake decided to create a traffic control system. The first one was installed at Bridge Street in Westminster in 1866. 

> FACT 9: You can find Ice Age Art in Creswell Crags! The caves found in the crags were said to have provided shelter to the few living species in the Ice Age as several bones, tools and other artefacts were found in and around the caves. 

> FACT 10: Walking through the Old Market Square in Nottingham, you may notice a mysterious mental line running down the centre. This line is actually where a wall used to be, separating the animal market from the grain and commercial when the square was a commercial market.
