Head PhotoBeing shortlisted for 'Pre-Prep Department of the Year 2019', in the Independent School of the Year Awards, confirmed to parents and pupils what they already knew; Spratton Hall is an exceptional school. Although academic achievement is highly valued and many pupils go on to receive scholarships to some of the best schools in the country, their approach is to always ask 'How can we give our pupils more?'.
To begin with, they have a challenging and creative curriculum that is more than just the core academic subjects. IT, languages, sport, drama, music, dance are firm fixtures in the calendar for all ages, while older children can try sewing, construction, gaming, photography and robotics to name but a few of the afterschool clubs. This rich range of subjects helps Spratton pupils uncover their real strengths and find their true voice from an early age.
With literally acres of top class sporting facilities, Spratton Hall has a 'more is more' approach to sport, and as a result the children are fit, healthy and competitive. Both girls and boys enjoy a combination of P.E., hockey, tennis, football, cricket, rugby, netball, cross country and athletics. Having multiple teams for each year, means that all pupils get the opportunity to proudly represent their school in their favourite sport.
The school also believes that children need more support outside of the classroom. Spratton's Head of Pastoral Care, therefore works closely with teachers, pupils and parents to immediately address any issues they have. The school also uses a specialist app called 'Tootoot' to give pupils the chance to communicate any concerns they have about both their online and offline lives, in confidence.
In 2020 Spratton Hall is also launching an on-site Forest School which will give all pupils the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors as they learn. Children in Pre-prep will discover more freedom as they joyfully hunt bugs, build dens, dip into ponds and climb trees; while older children in the Prep School will be able to carry out practical and experimental tasks to complement their classroom learning.
Finally, Spratton Hall recognises that schools need to help make life more manageable for parents, as it can be a challenge to organise work and life around the school day. They have established daily minibus routes to safely transport pupils from the surrounding area, free wraparound care to make the school-run more flexible, and afterschool clubs to extend the day in a fun way. Hot and healthy meals and snacks are included in the fees, as they know it is essential to give children the fuel they need throughout the school day.
To find out more about the school, parents and prospective pupils are welcome to attend their Open Mornings in May and October. These can be booked online at www.sprattonhall.com, or a visit can be arranged at a convenient time by emailing registrar@sprattonhall.com or calling 01604 847292.

Our next Open Morning is Friday 1st May 2020, arrival 10am-10.15am.
