Head PhotoHalliford School is a small independent day school for boys aged 11 - 18 and girls aged 16 - 18 in Shepperton. The Sixth Form at Halliford is co-educational, girls are made very welcome and rapidly come to play an important part in the life of the School.

The administrative centre of the School is a fine Georgian House set in six acres beside the River Thames. Passers-by may think the old house is the school, but behind the house are modern buildings housing light and airy classrooms, a Theatre, an excellent Sports Hall, Library and Sixth Form Centre. There are also on site sports fields with additional pitches within walking distance.

The exciting construction of our new Music, Art and Sixth Form Centre began in 2011 and was completed in September 2012. This building provides improved facilities for Art, allowing the department to extend its activities, a new Music School including a recital room, music IT suite and recording studio, along with extra space for our growing numbers entering the Sixth Form. There is also a cafeteria for Sixth Form and staff. The project is an outward and visible sign of the confidence and sense of purpose that exists at Halliford.

THE SIXTH FORM. Halliford has a thriving co-educational Sixth Form providing a choice of 25 A-level subjects.

EXAMINATION RESULTS. Halliford achieved a 97.6% pass rate for A Levels in 2016 and at GCSE over 48.8% of grades were A*/A with an overall pass rate of 98.6% securing at least 5 GCSEs. Most years there are successful candidates for 'Oxbridge'. However, Halliford is still pleased to accommodate boys who may not be high flyers academically but still wish to do their best at A-level.

SPORT. Sport is taken seriously at Halliford. Rugby is played in the Autumn Term; Soccer in the Spring Term, and in the Summer Term, cricket and athletics.

Halliford boasts a sports hall which incorporates five-aside football, indoor cricket nets, basketball/netball courts and a tennis court as well as a climbing wall and abseiling platform. The viewing gallery is wide enough to hold exercise machines for our fitness suite, which includes treadmills, exercise bikes, rowing machines and a free weights area. In addition there are opportunities to take part in a wide variety of other sports including golf, badminton, basketball, volleyball, cross country running, table tennis, wakeboarding, squash and there is also a ski club.

MUSIC. There is a school choir; Halliford wind band and opportunities to learn a variety of musical instruments. Each year there is keenly contested Best Soloist Competition.

DRAMA. Amongst a varied programme of activities there is a major production staged during the Autumn term.

TRANSPORT. Shepperton railway station is eight minutes' walk from the school. Regular bus services pass near the school and there are special school buses serving a wide area.

ENTRY PROCEDURE. Admission is by entrance examination, normally at 11+. There is a 13+ admission either through common entrance or a Halliford administered internal examination. Admission is also possible in other year groups should places be available. The 11+ examination takes place on the last Saturday in January in the proposed year of entry.
