Take Advantage of Scholarship Opportunities at Barfield
Barfield are welcoming pupils to apply for scholarship opportunities in Year 7 and 8. Awards of up to 50% are being awarded to pupils who demonstrate strength in Academia, Sport, Music and/or Art.
The last two years at Barfield have seen a new approach. Pupils in Year 7 and 8 benefit from an intensive two year programme of education, in small, focused, learning groups, designed to provide excellent provision for senior school transfer.
In addition to a wide and varied curriculum, education is enhanced with one to one tutorials which ensure an unparalleled depth of knowledge and understanding of the curriculum. Alongside academic rigour, pupils examine life skills, public debating, and have the opportunity to gain external qualifications such as GCSE Astronomy. The pupils have greater responsibility and status around the school and enjoy a varied programme of residential field trips.
Barfield has a 100% success rate in guiding pupils through Common Entrance and see excellent results. Children tend to move on to RGS, Guildford High School, Tormead, Priorsfield, Charterhouse, Cranleigh, Churchers College, Lord Wandsworth College, St Catherines, Bramley and Wellington College.
Barfield has an open morning on 25th January 2013 starting at 9.30am with a Headmasters Welcome followed by a tour of the school. To apply for the scholarship or for further information, please contact Maureen Liddle in Admissions on 01252 782271 by 30th January 2013. Published: January 10 2013
