GCSE Delight for St George’s Ascot Students

Following exceptional A level results last week, there was more pleasing news for St George’s School, Ascot this morning as Fifth Year (Year 11) pupils received their GCSE results. 50% of all examinations were graded A* and A, 83% were graded A*, A and B and 97% were graded A*-C. St George’s top performer this year was Lily Caines (16) from Maidenhead, who achieved 11A*s! Lily, a keen Drama student has been awarded a 16 Performing Arts Scholarship and also received the ‘Fifth Year Effort Prize’ at Prize Giving held in July. Other top performers include Marsha Ilina from Ascot and Antonina Kudryashova from Virginia Water, both of whom achieved 10A*s, 2As. Classmate, Hannah Chahal from Ascot also attained an impressive record of high end grades with 9A*s, 1A. Commenting on the impressive results, Headmistress, Rachel Owens said: “Our reputation is built on consistency and I am delighted that St George’s has maintained another fantastic year of results! St George’s girls are encouraged to work conscientiously and to the best of their ability and this, combined with inspirational teaching has delivered this excellent set of results. We are particularly pleased with our value-added score this year, which shows that we continue to add significant uplift to our girls’ achievements. I have every confidence that these girls will continue to thrive in the next chapter of their education”.
