County Tournament Success for Bishop’s Stortford College U11 Girls’ Hockey Team

Bishop’s Stortford College pupils faced Heath Mount School and Kingshott School in the U11 County Girls’ Hockey Tournament on Friday 18th November. All three games resulted in a draw, leading to a period of ‘5 minutes golden goal’ and penalty shuffles to determine the winners of each match. At the end of this stage, all three schools had won one game, which led to further penalty shuffles between all three teams.

Bishop’s Stortford College won the penalty shuffles, which secured them not only first place in this tournament, but also a place at the Regional Finals. Teacher of PE at the College David Hughes commented; “I was delighted for all the girls involved, as they saved their best performances of the term for the day.” The team now look forward to competing in the Regional Finals in May 2017.
