Culford Players Share Their Ambitions for the Future
The Bury Free Press visited Culford on January 10 to come and watch two of the School’s High Performance Tennis Scholars play. This was followed by a short interview; a great practice for the possible future Tennis stars. Kylie Bilchev and Harry Wendelken were featured in the paper on Friday 20 January.
Below is a short summary of the article.
Both have already made their mark on Tennis and have proved they won’t give up without a fight to get to the top. Kylie and Harry are Tennis Scholars at Culford and have not got to their retrospective high standard without dedication and hard work; which is directed through Culford’s Peformance Programmes.
Kylie was given the respected Suffolk Sport Young Sports Personality of the Year Award at the end of last year, which alongside her top 10 ranking, topped 2016 off very nicely. Harry was quoted to say that ‘he was most proud of winning the Under 14s Nationals last year’; a title that was well-deserved.
Harry has also recently had his best singles run ever on tour, reaching the Semi-Finals of the SALK Open in Sweden. At the end of the tour a junior player is given the Junior World Champion Title; previously won by Roger Federer, Andy Roddick and Ivan Lendl.
The two have great ambitions for this year and looking further into the future and we expect them to have great success; watch this space.Published: January 30 2017
