Kingshott declares amazing new Sports and Drama Facility officially open

Tuesday the 18th of September saw an engaging morning of drama and sports as Kingshott School celebrated the official opening of their new Sports and Drama facility. Guests included Olivier Award winning Giles Terera from the West End musical Hamilton (who grew up locally in Stevange), Sachel Grant, Mavericks Netball U21 Coach and Matt Hankin, former Saracens and England U20 rugby player.
Our guests inspired the children to make the most of the fantastic new facility which includes a vast hall for multiple sports activities including basketball, hockey, football, badminton, and volleyball as well as trampolining, cricket nets and other indoor games. A black curtain can be drawn around the entire hall instantly turning it into a magical theatre space. Tiered retractable seating for 400 is installed and there is also a separate drama studio, changing rooms and audio visual suite.
It was interesting to hear what had motivated and inspired each of our special guests to take the path that they had. The whole school, along with Governors, parents, contractors from the company who had undertaken the construction and invited guests were treated to a mix of video clips, photos and encouraging speeches all of which helped to showcase the capabilities of the new facility.
Kingshott are thrilled by the opportunities that this facility gives.
