Ascot Racecourse Trip

On the last day before half term, Form I students embarked on an awesome adventure to our friendly neighbour, Ascot Racecourse! We were welcomed with open arms by the fantastic Ascot team and split into two groups, each guided by an incredibly knowledgeable racecourse guide.

We explored every nook and cranny of the racecourse, as they shared many details about its connections to royalty as well as the many magnificent racehorses. From the revelation that the weighing room scales can’t handle all 12 of us at once, to the entrance of the Royal Box and the super-exclusive winning owners celebration room, we soaked up the epic history.

The grand finale of the two hour tour was getting up close and personal with the star of the show: ‘Side Glance,’ the wonderful Ascot Racecourse equine ambassador! This legend, who once ran neck and neck with the legendary Frankel, was an absolute gentleman and gave us the chance to offer him some minty treats. Our enthusiastic Heathfield students couldn’t have been happier!
