14 St Swithun's girls played in the joint Hampshire and Oxfordshire U15 county lacrosse team at the annual South West Regional Tournament at Westonbirt School in Gloucestershire on Saturday 9th November. Although the team consists of girls from schools across Hampshire and Oxfordshire this year it was dominated by St Swithun's pupils.

The U15A team started the day strongly with a win over local rivals Berkshire. They then defeated Monmouthshire and a joint Gloucestershire & Worcestershire team. Their final game saw a 7-2 victory against a strong Wiltshire & Dorset team resulting in their being crowned champions.

St Swithun's U15A players were Georgina Witter, Abbie Baker, Emily Wilson, Sophie Cole, Natalia Smithers, Coco Vulliamy Taylor, Molly McKenna, Emma Bhatti, Lucy Jonas, Louisa Tice, Georgina Baylis, Allegra Whittome, Lizzie Umbers and Sophie Bennett.

The U19A team finished 2nd overall with their only loss of the day against tournament winners Berkshire. They had wins against Wiltshire and Dorset. This was Hampshire's best result in this tournament in the last 5 years. Players from St Swithun's representing the county included Emily Sambrook Smith as team captain, Nuala Morris, Sally Goodhand, Alice and Hannah Hobhouse, Jess Baker, Ellie Powell, Olivia Thorneycroft, Georgia Sugden and Tink Manton-Jones.

Many of our own St Swithun's 1st and 2nd team players (Georgia Tice, Emma Bennett, Megan Bespolka, Sophie Kininmonth, Annie Cole, Mhairi Brannigan, Jodie Russell, Lily Morgan, Flora Gossage, Susannah Wakefield, Katie Meynell) represented the Hampshire and Oxfordshire U19B county lacrosse team. However, despite only succumbing to one team, Berkshire, in the first game of the day and defeating the remaining counties with score differentials of more than 10, the U19B team finished third of five overall; all this after an interesting 3-way tie with the final standings determined by bonus points and goal differentials. Despite this, the girls enjoyed the day and valued the opportunity to play with new team mates.

The U15B Hampshire and Oxfordshire was a mixture of U15 and U14 players including Alicia Brown, Poppy Saraby, Josie Smailes, Iona Kininmonth, Emily Wickham, Caroline Brooke, Eloise Eskes, Tatty Dent, Perdi Kennedy and Alicia Dent. The girls had a tough day against strong opposition but managed to pull off a great win against Monmouthshire.
