Thorpe boys cycle 301 miles for charity!

Published Tuesday 26th of November 2013 10:28:13 AM

During their annual Charities Week, the boys of Thorpe House School collectively cycled 301 miles on static exercise bikes. All the Seniors at the school from year 7 to 11 took part - a total of 140 boys in total - and raised over 1500 in sponsorship money.

The money will go to the charities Stickler Syndrome, Cancer Research and Friends of Arciana, a charity helping the street children in Kabal.

Teacher Jan Macmillian who is responsible for the week's events said:

'In previous Charity Weeks we have swum the English Channel in our school pool, rowed the Thames on static rowing machines, so this year as our charity representative Eliot Stevens is a keen cyclist, a cycle challenge seemed like the obvious choice. It was an incredibly sweaty day in the gym, but the boys had a fantastic time!'
