A pupil at Kingshott School has won four music cups in the space of 24 hours at Bedford Music Festival this week. Max Guida, aged 9, played solo piano pieces, from memory, in the following categories: 20th Century, Baroque, Classical and Own Choice classes. As a result of his high scores, Max has now been invited to play in the Festival's High Achievers' Concert this Saturday evening at Bedford Corn Exchange. Max has since won a further two trophies at Kingshott School's own piano competition adjudicated by International Concert Pianist Kathron Sturrock, who also gave a recital to the school pupils. In addition to the piano Max plays the cello and is a member of the Kingshott Chamber Choir which will go on tour at the end of the Summer Term. Max's piano teacher, Alison Eales, who is also Director of Music at Kingshott said 'We are very proud of Max who is proving to be a very fine and talented young musician'.
