ACS Egham's Varsity Basketball team has recently won the International Schools Sport Association's (ISSA) Boys Basketball Championship in Barcelona.

The Boys Basketball tournament was held at Europa International School in Barcelona. ACS Egham's team, which represents eight different nations, competed against other schools from across the continent over three days, playing six games unbeaten to reach the final.

In the final, ACS Egham's Jaguars played the hosts, Europa International School, in a heated match for the 2014 champions title. In the last period, the Jaguars stole the trophy with student, Mandius Lundal, hitting a three-point basket with four seconds left of the championship game; a 44 score to the visiting side to the home team's 43.

This latest win follows the Jaguars' victory last year at the ISSA Boys Basketball tournament held in London.

Sean Sonderman, the team's coach, commented:

'I'm really proud of all the team's efforts and hard work which really paid off at the championships. The crowds were excellent on both sides, creating a really lively atmosphere, which fuelled both teams. The team really came together over the course of the tournament, everyone playing their respective roles. The championship game is one of those memories the boys will never forget and neither will I.'
