Oakham School's 1st XI Hockey team have been crowned the 2014 Independent Schools Hockey League (ISHL) Champions following their 7-3 win over Oundle.Captained brilliantly by Sam Williams, the team beat their opposition painlessly, with three goals from Oscar Bennison, two from Paul Spies, and one each from Jules Röper and Bill Measom.
Some of the country's best known hockey schools compete in the league, so it is a testament to the team's efforts this season to have come out on top. The boys had to wait patiently for other results to come in before being crowned champions. 'The win demonstrates just how well the boys have played this season,' says Ashley Denman, Director of Hockey.
