Its All Happening at Hoe Bridge

What an exciting time it is turning out to be at Hoe Bridge School in Woking!

The school is currently in the throes of a major building project, has just completed an excellent Independent Schools Inspectorate inspection, has already raised over 6000 for charity since September and now has announced plans to increase their Nursery opening times for next year.

Last April, the school embarked on a major building project across their site in Old Woking, starting with the complete rebuilding of their Pre-Prep department to create a modern and spacious environment for the youngest of the children. Plans then move to the Prep department where the development of a new performance building will increase the pupils artistic space.

Even with the ongoing building works, the school has just completed a very successful ISI Inspection in which it was rated excellent. Headmaster Nick Arkell said, I am very proud of what both the children and staff achieved in the inspection. We faced some difficulties with the inspection taking place at the same time as the building work, but I was always confident that we would receive the rating we deserved despite this.

Each year, the school supports two charities, one local and one international. In September, the children vote for the charities they want to support from a short list of six. This year, the South African charity Pebbles Project and the St. Georges Hospital charity Giving to Georges were the two that were selected. Last year, the school donated over 14,500 to their two chosen charities.

On top of all this excitement, the school has also announced that it will be extending the hours it currently offers to Nursery children to five full days starting in September 2015. To celebrate this, they will be holding Toddlers Tea Parties where children and their parents can come and play and get the chance to look round the stunning new Pre-Prep building. Linda Renfrew, the Head of Pre-Prep, said, We cant wait to get into our super new building. It is going to be such an exciting time and it will be wonderful to show it off to everyone.
