Malvern St James Are U18 County Hockey Champions

On Wednesday 23 September the MSJ U18 Team played superbly in the Worcestershire County tournament at Stourport Hockey Club. In the first game they played RGS Worcester- dominating play and not letting RGS out of their own half. Despite this pressure it was a very close match and it was after the final whistle when MSJ scored from a penalty corner in extra time. With confidence high, the team went on to beat Bromsgrove 1 - 0 and Malvern College 1 - 0. The final game was against Kings Worcester. Throughout this tough match the girls continued to fight for possession, which culminated in Teya Thomas scoring with an outstanding top corner finish and a 1 – 0 victory for MSJ. Congratulations to our fantastic U18 team who are now County Champions and qualify to play in the next round in early November.
