The music department at Spratton Hall have a lot to celebrate at the moment. Lottie Thomas was awarded the Lula Taylor Award at the Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust recently. This award is given to a promising young string player. Alexander Miller, an old Sprattonian, reached the final of the Nigel Cobb Music and Performing Arts Fellowship Awards with his tuba – an amazing achievement. Alexander is also performing at the Royal Albert Hall this week at the Music for Youth Proms. The Music for Youth Proms at the iconic Royal Albert Hall, are the culmination of the Music for Youth season of competitions that have been taking place all year throughout the country. Spratton Hall has Phoebe Thomas who is playing on her violin in the Northamptonshire County Junior Strings and they are playing with the Cornwell Youth Orchestra. We also have Johnnie Stephenson who is playing his cornet in a massed Choir and Orchestra which is linked to the Daventry Saturday Music School and Alexander who is playing his tuba with the Northamptonshire County Youth Concert Band. These Proms showcase the future stars of the music world. Well done to all of you.
