Badington House School

A right royal day

Published Thursday 5th of May 2011 02:53:27 PM

The Prep School held their own special celebration to mark last week's Royal Wedding between HRH Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Pupils had been learning about the Royal Family in the run-up to the big day and, although April 29 was a public holiday, the School felt it important that the children had an opportunity to celebrate with their classmates and organised their own 'royal wedding day' the day before the main event!

The kitchen staff prepared individual picnic lunches in Union Jack boxes and parent, Mrs Steph Muller, whose daughter Darcie is in Year 1, iced a spectacular wedding cake, which the children were able to enjoy.

The children learned the National Anthem, which they sang before toasting Prince William and his bride with Bucks Fizz (made from orange juice and lemonade!)

After tucking into their mass picnic on the School lawn, they enjoyed fun and games in the sun before receiving a commemorative mug, courtesy of the School Parents' Association.
