The average candidate score is the equivalent of 4 A* grades at A Level. Local pupil Niall Simmons scored a very impressive 43 points, he will now go on to study Medicine at UCL. Academic Deputy Peter Ruben said that he is bowled over by the pupils’ achievement and the School’s Director of the IB, Dr Michael Thompson, added ‘We are absolutely delighted by our average of 38 points. This is a demanding course and students and their teachers have once again excelled.’ Meanwhile, Bromsgrove students who studied for a BTEC qualification in Sport achieved 34 Distinction* grades (equal to an A* at A level) and 9 Distinction grades (equal to an A grade at A level) between them.
