New Year, New Hurdle for School Showjumpers

Published Wednesday 18th of January 2017 09:44:39 AM

There was no rest for Brentwood School showjumpers Eloise and Tia Squibb who spent the New Year competing at the Liverpool International Horse Show. Inside a packed Echo Arena, hosting thousands of showjumping fans, 11-year-old Eloise came fourth in the 128cm final – a great result against a line-up of the top 24 children in the country. Younger sister, 10-year-old Tia who is in Year 5 at Brentwood Preparatory School, competed in a class called the ‘mini major’ which sees juniors get picked to compete with a professional senior. This fun event is a great favourite with the crowd and Tia was the fastest junior - her professional was not quite as fast on the day - however, the duo were still placed. Next, the girls have their sights on qualifying for the Hickstead Royal International and the prestigious Horse of the Year Show.
