Canford hockey players are celebrating selection for National assessments and Regional squads.

Libby Jones has been chosen to represent the region in the Wessex Leopards and will take part in the Futures Tournament over half term. She is joined by two boys in the Wessex Leopards squads, Albert Thornton and Robbie Mansell.

Meanwhile four Canfordians have been selected for the HiPAC trials. Many congratulations to Brodie Fairchild who has been chosen to take part in the Girls' U17 HiPAC camp at the National Squad training facility at Lilleshall near Telford. Congratulations also to Ryan Younger, Tom Chandler and Alex Wilkins who will travel to Leeds for their HiPAC camp. These residential camps are run by England Hockey as part of the player pathway scheme. The HiPAC aims to give players in the U15 and U17 age groups first-hand experience of an international training camp environment, in preparation for potential future involvement in a National Age Group Squad (NAGS).

In addition, Canford U14 girls are now County Champions having beaten Sherborne 1-0 in finals held at Bryanston, while the U18s Girls are also County Champions having triumphed over Bryanston 7-0 and Sherborne 3-1. Both squads now move forward to the West of England Prelims.
