We Will Remember Them

Today we held our traditional drumhead service to mark the 105th anniversary of the Armistice. The CCF were on parade, surrounded by pupils, staff and Hillians to commemorate this special occasion in the School calendar.
We were honoured to have among us Colonel Rob Kearney, Commanding Officer of Canadian Armed Forces in the United Kingdom, as we underlined the joint British and Canadian heritage of some of the 64 men from Kingham Hill listed on our war memorial in Chapel, a third of whom volunteered for active service whilst at Havelock Farm in Ontario.
After the two minutes' silence, wreaths were laid at the drumhead by the Headmaster and the Head of School; the Last Post and Reveille were played for the final time by Zack Jones who, now in his Upper Sixth year, has played for us every year since he joined in the First Form.
