Remembrance Day commemorations will be particularly special at Abberley Hall Preparatory School this year when pupils are given a presentation on a poignant wartime escape.

Worcestershire woman Ellie Target will be talking to children at Abberley Hall about how her father fled from the Nazis in Norway.

Former BBC presenter Ellie has published a book called 'Another Man's Shoes' and will be visiting Abberley to discuss it with pupils aged 11 to 13 years.

Abberley Hall headmaster John Walker explained that staff always impress upon pupils the importance of Remembrance Day.

'Every year we hold a very moving service in our chapel when we pay tribute to former pupils who have died in the wars.

This year we are also pleased to be welcoming Ellie who will give a very personal perspective to the commemorations - I am sure the children will find her story fascinating,' he said.

Abberley Hall pupils will also be attending the 'Remember Remember' concert at Birmingham's Symphony Hall when the CBSO will mark the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain and pay musical tribute to war-time heroes.
