Harvest Festival at St Margaret's

Children were taught the lesson of how it is better to give than receive when they donated gifts of food to a Devizes charity as part of their school's Harvest Festival celebration.

All the items of tinned and dried produce brought into St Margaret's Preparatory School, Calne, have been given to Devizes Food Bank to be distributed to families in need.
St Margaret's Headmistress Karen Cordon said: 'Harvest Festival is an important Service which gives the children time to reflect and realize that there are families who are struggling to make ends meet and we can do our own little bit to help.'

'Devizes Food Bank does a wonderful job in supporting local people in hardship and we are delighted to play a small part in that.'

During the service the Choir sang Harvest Time Is Here Again and Drop In The Ocean and the Chamber Choir, made up of children from years five and six, sang the John Rutter version of All Things Bright and Beautiful.

Devizes Food Bank is a registered charity which provides help to local families in need often before help from other sources is available. It is open every Thursday morning from 10am to noon at St Andrew's Church, Long Street, Devizes.
