St Margaret's Culture Week

Published Wednesday 7th of November 2012 09:05:44 AM

Young children got up close and personal with Goldie, a Taiwanese Beauty Snake, as part of a special week at their school which allowed them to explore a wide variety of different activities. Goldie was brought into St Margaret's Preparatory School, Calne, by Jonathan's Jungle Roadshow and the children also encountered tarantulas, crested geckos and imperial scorpions. Older pupils taking part in Culture Week enjoyed Shakespeare workshops based on A Midsummer Night's Dream, while the whole school joined in the Happy Puzzle Company's mathematical and strategy games. The final two days were given over to performance, with The Wilkes Academy teaching street dance routines to music including that of Justin Bieber and Michael Jackson and a Dawkes Music Roadshow, running instrumental workshops. Headmistress Karen Cordon said: 'It was a fantastic week, full of so many different experiences for all of the children. '
