Published Thursday 6th of December 2012 05:09:16 PM

Hockey playing at Blundell's School is at an all-time high with 17 pupils selected to play for Devon in the county squads. This record number includes eight girls who will play for the under 14s, as well boys in the under 14, under 15 and under 17 teams and girls playing in the under 15 and under 17 teams.
The selections come just as a very strong Blundell's under 13 girls hockey team were crowned Devon champions, having won the county tournament without conceding any goals. They will now go on to represent Devon at the West final to be held next term. Team coach James Mayes said 'The players have all worked really hard and deserve to represent their county. I am very proud of them they are a very talented group.' Five of these girls are amongst those selected to play for the county under 14 squad.
