> FACT 3:  Approximately 25% of people who live in Cambridge cycle to work! This makes Cambridge the highest percentage of cyclists in the United Kingdom.  

> FACT 4:  Cambridge is potentially the birthplace of football, the “Cambridge Rules” were established in 1863 at the University of Cambridge. 

> FACT 5:  Douglas Adams, author of Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, wrote and filmed a Doctor Who story in Cambridge in 1979. Although the episode was never aired due to studio strikes, Cambridge appeared on Doctor Who for the 20th anniversary story as Tom Baker (the Doctor) was filmed punting down the River Cam.  

> FACT 6: If you take a walk through Market Square, you will find a statue made of brightly coloured shapes, a top hat, mice and a white cat. This statue is actually a memorial to Walter ‘Snowy’ Farr, a magician who famously put live mice into his mouth! He also received an MBE for raising money for charities dedicated to helping the blind. 

> FACT 7:  Oliver Cromwell’s head is actually buried in Cambridge! After dying in 1658 he was buried in Westminster Abbey, Charles II had Cromwell's body exhumed so that he could display it on a spike. The skull was then passed through a large number of private collectors before eventually being buried at a secret location in 1960. 

> FACT 8:  Isaac Newton, mathematician and physicist who is famous for his theory of gravity, studied at Cambridge University before publishing his laws of physics in 1687. 

> FACT 9:  The Corpus Christi clock is a famous attraction found at the end of Kings Parade. In order to represent the relativity of time, the clock speeds up, slows down and sometimes even stops! If you ever want to capture the correct time, you’ll have to wait for the next fifth minute - where it will give the correct time to a hundredth of a second! 

> FACT 10:  King’s College Chapel is the most famous building in Cambridge and was actually designed by Henry VI. The first stone was laid in 1441, when Henry was only 19. The Chapel passed through the hands of Richard III, Henry VII, Henry VIII and Edward VI.
